Tin Soldier

Officer, originally uploaded by cgiordan25.

This is my favorite from the week. My brother sent my boys a couple of sest of tin soldiers. They are West Point cadets, this one is an officer and he carriers the sword, the other in the set all carry a rifle. Francesco tells me he is the one with the sword because he is the 'line leader" and that his favorite job.

Week 4

Wow, week 4 was harder than week 3. I hope this is not a trend. I did notice a ton of sensor dust the other day and got really frustrated. I had just sent my camera to Nikon back in October, I guess the excessive use and changing of lens may be to blame. I just could not send it back so I sucked it up and cleaned it myself. I did fine except for 2 small specks I just can seem to get.

I can truly say I am really looking forward to daylight saying time. I really am not good with the flash indoors. I really need to work on that. I am really getting over my shyness of whipping the camera out anywhere which is really liberating. (Do you think I said really enough in these last few sentences...really?

Eye Doctor

Eye Doctor, originally uploaded by cgiordan25.

This is my favorite from the week. It represent the fact that Francesco's surgery was successful and that I am still carrying the camera everywhere and getting it out all the time.

Week 3

What a rough week. I had such a hard time finding the light. The rain and the long days really did not help. I am happy to say that I did take at least 2 photo's each day. I am not saying they were awesome but I did it.

What I learned this week is that sometimes there is no light and your really need to look for it.
(I also learned that I need to go more "new" places because I look at the same things EVERY day.

My Sweetheart

This little guy had a lot of my attention this week, a minor surgery on Thursday. This is my favorite shot from the week and it was taken around noon on the day he had surgery. Kids are amazing how they bounce back like a Superballs in no time.

I call him sweetheart because now if I say something like, "do you feeling okay baby?" or "can I get you anything baby?", he has a fit over me saying baby.

According to Francesco he is officially a big boy, but it's okay for me to to call him sweetheart.

Week Two

So far I am hanging in there and the awkwardness of whipping out my camera is diminishing. My bag now feels so strange when I don't have the camera in it.

Tonight I noticed when I left work at 4:45 it was still a little light out and I though to myself, "I need to take more pictures." When I was coming out of the daycare the Helicopter was there on the hospital landing pad and getting ready to take off. I was able to snap a few shots but of course only one sorta came out.
Again if I had not had the camera as an extension of my arm then I would not have even gotten the bad picture.

Fence

Fence, originally uploaded by cgiordan25.

I wanted to post this shot because there is something about it I like. Not sure if it cause of the crooked fence or the fact that I parked on the side of the road near a golf course and got down on my knee while a bunch of cars drove by to take the shot.
The biggest hang up for me so far is worrying that people are thinking I am strange just whipping the camera out. I am slowly getting better. We were at Ikea today and I pulled it out a few time. I think I am getting over that fear and I am really glad.

The First Week

The First Week, originally uploaded by cgiordan25.

So I have started my 365 project. Thanks to Rose for the tips on Flickr and making the mosaic. I even braved the cold windy weather to take some outside photos the other day. That how much I want to really do this project. The other thing I am really proud of is that I have had my camera on manual. I am learning a lot that way. I am messing up at lot too but I am one of those people that really learn form my mistakes.
